Store Design Team

This online store is an experiential learning project by St. Lawrence College Marketing students.

In the current world of business, e-commerce has become a huge part of marketing; to have a successful business today, you must use as many platforms as possible to reach your target audience. Shopify and St. Lawrence College have teamed up for the first time ever, to allow marketing students to gain hands-on experience with an e-commerce website. The Shopify platform allowed us to create a real website and have the possibility of earning badges along the way.

St. Lawrence College’s Faculty of Marketing and Shopify partnered with Cathy Cleary, a co-founder of the Tchukudu Project, to have the students build a website to help sell products, in support of, the Tchukudu Women's Training Centre. The goal of this exercise is to provide TWTC with a professional and functional website from which to continue to sell products. Proceeds earned from this website are donated to the Tchukudu Women's Training Centre, so that they can continue to help better the lives of women in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
