Empower women in the Democratic Republic of Congo! 100% of proceeds goes toward the Women's Training Centre!

Tchukudu Women's Training Centre

Since 1998, violent conflict, disease and poverty in the Democratic Republic of Congo have killed over 5 million people and it continues today. Investment in creating income-generating opportunities for the Congolese people is one of the fastest and most sustainable ways to lift women, men and children out of poverty, offering tremendous potential for increasing stability and opening doors to improved health and education. In Goma, DRCongo we are partnered and working with local women to help them to better their lives.

The Tchukudu Women’s Training Centre opened in May 2014 with 16 generous women sponsoring 16 Congolese women to learn the trade of seamstress. Since that time, the Training Centre has graduated 48 women into the Tailoring/Seamstress business, 10 women into Basket Weaving and 32 women in Tie Dyeing. There are currently 9 women studying sewing and many more waiting to join the training centre. The Centre soon hopes to offer business training workshops. These entrepreneurial women are building businesses and lives that will feed their families and educate their children. Sponsoring one woman through her two year training makes ALL the difference to her life. Click here to learn how you can get involved.
